Creed

Guitar Circle

This is my guitar. There are many like it, but this one is mine. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my guitar is useless. Without my guitar, I am useless.

I must play my guitar tuned. I must practice more than my peers who are trying to out play me . I must shred him before he shreds me.

I will.

My guitar and I know that what counts in music is not the notes we play, the strings we bend, or the chords we strum. We know that it is the feel that counts.

We will practice.

My guitar is human, even as I am human, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its notes, its theory, its parts, its accessories, its knobs and its frets. I will keep my guitar tuned and ready, even as I am tuned and ready.

We will become part of each other.

Before God I swear this creed. My guitar and I are the tones of our music. We are the masters of our melody. We are the saviors of my harmonics.

So be it, until the final note is played and there is no string left out of tune.
