It was the first time I had heard Spinal Tap on the radio – FM or otherwise. What a treat. The song was Big Bottoms! YT

As one can imagine, Nadia necame highly frustrated and killed the whole town. All because of A Minor.
One guitar leads to another. And another.

I keep saying I am all set buying more guitars, but I could not resist this one. My guitar teacher has the crazy FLY Parker, and so, because Im a jackass and loved the neck, I wanted one. This LP type is a lot more affordable and the neck is awesome. The STINGER humbuckers were replaced with some other crazy “boutique” pickups, as the seller told me. I don’t quite know what “boutique” means as it pertains to anything except a store-type, but WHO CARES anyway? I love the guitar and now it is part of my family.

It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until your fingers fall off.
Finally. After 5 months of Lessons.

“if people hear you play that on guitar, they will freak out”
- My teacher (S. Brian Bailey) after I showed him what I
wanted to play if I went to a music shop to try out a guitar
Thanks Jimi!

When was a lot younger (a lont younger than today!) I was not really into Jimi Hendrix. could not follow his playing or understand the sounds. As the years went on, I started to really like the songs.
Now that I am taking up the guitar, I really do appreciate what he did for the instrument in terms of taking the rules out of it all. He certainly paved the way to the heroes I admire today.
Thanks Jimi!

How did this come to be? Well, let me tell ya. I made an impulse buy of an Epiphone Les Paul a few months ago. It was green (awesome!) and had an EVH type of design to it. Pretty cool. But, it also had the word SoBe on it (yep, the beverage company). I love the color, but never could accept the blunt beverage logo.
So, I sold it to a dude up on the North Shore (MA), and that same day, bought a Fernandes Velocity FX (explorer-type) guitar. It had a built-in Zoom-FX processor. It was not what I was expecting, and was a shorter scale as well. I immediately put it up for sale of trade.
A cool cat emailed me and asked if I was interested in a custom built guitar with a scalloped neck. I guess – right? I mean, how do I know if I am interested or not? But I did know I’ve never owned one, so I thoguht what the heck. I love the wood finish, and the neck is sweet. It is a real fender neck, and it seems to be a signature neck as well – but I cannot make out the signature. Maybe someone out there will know?
So, outside of it needing a high-E, I love it. But… who knows how long I will keep it before I decide I want something else?
Aaah… in the background? An Ernie Ball Axis G20 with a ROCKSTAR ENERGY drink graphic! Yeah, no kidding – WTF. But I really wanted to try that asymmetrical neck thing, or whatever it is called. Its nice, but the neck radius is weird for me because I Like the flat-feel of a Les Paul.
That other goofy looking Les Paul Junior-type is a Dean. Someone went and put spiral stickers on it, and glued “Mystical Magical Monarch” on the pick-guard. Nice, huh? It sounds awesome though, and is a basswood body. I need to get that thing set up the way I like it though.
Yep. That other thing in the corner is a 6-string bass. I love toys.
Greetings. I am Six String Thing.

Hello. I am a website about learning guitar. I am not a teacher. I am a student. This is my knuckle-scraping journey, as a former (but still!) drummer, trying to adopt Guitar and Bass.
I hope I am not in over my head!,
