Lester Caster

How did this come to be? Well, let me tell ya. I made an impulse buy of an Epiphone Les Paul a few months ago. It was green (awesome!) and had an EVH type of design to it. Pretty cool. But, it also had the word SoBe on it (yep, the beverage company). I love the color, but never could accept the blunt beverage logo.

So, I sold it to a dude up on the North Shore (MA), and that same day, bought a Fernandes Velocity FX (explorer-type) guitar. It had a built-in Zoom-FX processor. It was not what I was expecting, and was a shorter scale as well.  I immediately put it up for sale of trade.

A cool cat emailed me and asked if I was interested in a custom built guitar with a scalloped neck. I guess – right? I mean, how do I know if I am interested or not? But I did know I’ve never owned one, so I thoguht what the heck. I love the wood finish, and the neck is sweet. It is a real fender neck, and it seems to be a signature neck as well – but I cannot make out the signature. Maybe someone out there will know?

So, outside of it needing a high-E, I love it. But… who knows how long I will keep it before I decide I want something else?

Aaah… in the background? An Ernie Ball Axis G20 with a ROCKSTAR ENERGY drink graphic! Yeah, no kidding – WTF. But I really wanted to try that asymmetrical neck thing, or whatever it is called. Its nice, but the neck radius is weird for me because I Like the flat-feel of a Les Paul.

That other goofy looking Les Paul Junior-type is a Dean. Someone went and put spiral stickers on it, and glued “Mystical Magical Monarch” on the pick-guard. Nice, huh? It sounds awesome though, and is a basswood body. I need to get that thing set up the way I like it though.

Yep. That other thing in the corner is a 6-string bass. I love toys.  :)
